Day 255 – Lithuania – V – Spain

Day 255 – 29th March 2011

Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Islas Canarias

I packed a bag which Dan carried to the rocks for me to load onto Faraway and waited for John to pick me up.

Aboard Faraway, I realised John’s idea of ‘nifty’ was the same as always.  The familiar unpleasant smell lingered.

“Oh, it might smell a bit of paint down here, I’ve been painting.”

“If only it did” I thought.

After a drink of juice, (I’d declined the green tea with milk I’d been given) I returned home to the She of Feock

“I don’t leave until Saturday.”

“Why do you want to go back to that?”

We’d been through it all weeks ago.  Dan understood…

I did the laundry then we went shopping for a new netbook to replace the one stolen by the Pirates.  I was weak with hunger when the selection was finally made so we went to a tapas bar for food.  Lithuania was playing Spain in a football game and each time Spain scored we got a free beer.  “Come on Spain” I called – my Lithuanian brother in law Vaidas would have been horrified.

On the way home, we stopped at the Sailors Bar for a wine and a check of the new computer.  All was well!
