Sleeping under a tarp with a bivi bag

Sleeping under a tarp with a bivi bag

It’s been a hectic week.  The new kit for wildcamping has been arriving daily but there’s still a lot to come.   When the Alpkit Rig 7 tarp and hunka bivvy bag came, I simply had to try it out.  I got ready for my first night under a tarp but I couldn’t wait for nightfall.  The ceiling mounted light was pretty useful for adding height under the tarp.

Dan laughed and said I needed to ‘Man-up’. I took his advice seriously and turned off the radiator in the bedroom. The bivvy bag is a bright chilli red and looks lovely on top of the duvet. Hopefully, I’ll survive the chilly night ahead.

Meanwhile, downstairs in base camp, Dan pored over the maps, charting and plotting exciting routes.
